What is an autoresponder?
Friday, January 4th, 2008 by Sharon Marie SutherlinLast evening I was a guest speaker on a teleseminar titled “You Gotta Have a Website and it Better Be Good.” This teleseminar was facilitated by Dr. Meggin McIntosh. One of the participants asked me what an autoresponder was and I thought that was a great question that should be answered again in this blog.
Many people are not aware of some of the standard features that come with web hosting services. An autoresponder is a piece of software that usually resides on a server and enables you to send emails to people automatically. People use autoresponders to inform others when they are away from their office or on vacation. Another example is that an autoresponder can be used to automatically deliver a pre-written marketing message to anyone who submits email to a particular email address. The beauty of autoresponders is that they save you the costs of printing, posting, and packaging and enable you to keep in touch with all of your prospects around the clock without having to do anything.
